Stek victorious for Stedin in precedent-setting liability dispute

Stek has successfully represented distribution company Stedin in civil litigation initiated by a housing corporation. The housing corporation sued for consequential damages, including lost rental income, caused by alleged late completion of household electricity connections. By judgment of 22 January 2020 the Rotterdam District Court ruled that Stedin can invoke the exclusion of liability for indirect damages in its general conditions and rejected the claim of the housing corporation.
