Stek advises Audax Retail on merger with RDC Holding

Stek advised Audax Retail B.V. on its merger with retail chain Retail Development Company (RDC Holding B.V.). The retail formulas of both organizations will continue under Audax Retail. Audax is the media company of publishing family De Leeuw. Among other things, the company owns the AKO chain, which has one hundred stores and operates from stations, airports and large shopping centers. Audax Group also publishes magazines such as Vriendin, Weekend, Party, Gloss and Mijn Geheim. RDC owns the franchise formula The Read Shop (Express) and the purchasing groups Plantage, Vivánt and Tabaronde. Approximately 600 stores are connected to RDC, including 170 The Read Shops. The Read Shop profiles itself as a convenience store for magazines, greeting cards, office supplies, books and a strong growth in service products. The stores are run by franchisers.
